Aluminum sulphate, which accounts for about 50% of the total output, is used as a flocculant in the
treatment of drinkingwater, industrial water and industrial wastewater, accounting for about 40% of
the total output of aluminium sulphate. When aluminium sulfate is added to such water, gelatinous
flocculants of aluminium hydroxide can be formed, which can adsorb and precipitate bacteria, colloids
and other suspended substances. The colour and taste of water can be controlled in drinking water treatment.
